Big Rob Eley and the Slater Boys Back !
Barons stalwarts return for another year at Hobs Moat

Rob Eley has notched up over 200 games in a Solihull shirt.

Three more familiar faces will line up in the Red and White of the Motor Nation Solihull Barons when long standing favourites Rob Eley and the Slater brothers return once more to the Hobs Moat ice.

In Rob Eley the Barons have a figure commanding enormous respect both on and off the ice and this was reflected in his captaincy through the double winning 13-14 season. Very much a career Barons player, tallying around 250 games and over 120 goals in a Solihull shirt there can be few who can claim to play more for the fleur-de-lis than Eley.

Joining Eley will be two other Barons stalwarts in the form of Rich and Eddie Slater, both again to all intents single-club players.

Despite only being 22 Richard Slater will return for his 10th season for Solihull having first iced for the senior Barons as far back as 2005-06. Last season was a highlight, topping not only the Barons, but the whole league's scoresheets with an incredible 43 goals.

Eddie Slater has shown himself consistently effective in his own end, on the blue line, in transition and in front of goal.

Older brother Eddie has been a fixture on the Barons defensive lines for a similar period of time to Rich. Playing a safe game in his own end, Eddie is not afraid to play a rushing game carrying the puck up the ice whenever the opportunity arises.

Rich Slater ended 2013-14 as the top scorer in the entire Laidler conference
A welcome return for all three players as the Barons continue to bring back the core of last season's highly successful team. More names to be announced over the next few days - some familiar…some new !
