Returnee Hewitt and former Coventry rival Nicholl sign as Barons netminders

Darren Bellerby, head coach of the Motor Nation Solihull Barons this week confirmed who will be starring between the pipes for the 2013-14 Barons.

Bellerby has shaken up his options by signing ex-Coventry NL Blaze goalie Josh Nicholls in addition to bringing back Barons regular Sam Hewitt.

Nicholls comes to the Barons having shouldered the bulk of the stopping duties for the Blaze last season.

Josh Nicholls

Nicholls has divided his hockey career among a variety of sides playing out of both Telford and Coventry, including a number of spells with the Premier League Telford Tigers.

Barons fans had a chance for a good look at Nicholls when he starred for the Blaze on their visits to Hobs Moat last year but the 22 year old will be swapping sky blue for red and white for 2013-14.

Sam Hewitt

Sam Hewitt obviously needs no introduction to those regulars at the Solihull rink over the last few years.

No stranger to man of the match awards, the cool and collected Hewitt has often been key in helping the Barons stay in games against strong opposition and will be hoping to continue this in the upcoming season.

With around three-quarters of the squad now signed, stay tuned over the next few days as the final pieces are added to the 2013-14 Barons.
