"Spanner" as we all know him, iced with the Barons back in the EPL Days and was a part of the transition of the Barons from the EPL Days down to the ENL. After having an Impressive junior career and stepping into the Barons, Spanner decided that he wanted less commitment and decided to take a few seasons out of competitive hockey and enjoy playing again.
Head Coach Darren Bellerby commented on re-capturing the signature of Scialdone by saying “I have known Toni for many years now and have seen him progress from a Junior right through to Senior Hockey. He is a player that I wanted onboard last season but had to respect Spanners wishes that he didn’t feel he was in a position to commit. I'm glad he has returned for this year. Spanner has been working hard in the off season and during the summer hockey sessions we have been having since the season finished to get his eye back in for goal and is something we will reap the rewards of this season. He is a big strong presence on the ice and has the ability to be in the right place at the right time. This will guarantee you goals, something we will need this season after the departure of Tonks (Dean Tonks). " |
